Underbrushing is the removal of small saplings and overgrowth. This is an economical way to be able to access property. It provides the ability to get the lay of the land so you can select the larger trees to be removed during clearing operations. Underbrushing is usually done with a forestry mulcher/mower. The forestry mulcher is an environmentally friendly way to get rid of the material because it turns it into a fine mulch that will dissipate over time. This is also good for (push backs) along fences in HOA’s and property lines. In some cases it may be done by bushhogging when the brush is less dense.
